GOLDMAN SACHS 10,000 SMALL BUSINESSES

Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is the leading small business program that provides businesses with tools, resources, and network to grow their business. This nationwide program now has over 16,000+ graduates that have completed the program, representing $27.7B+ in revenue and over 307K+ jobs.

Throughout my leadership administering, the program successfully:

  • Generated $1B+ revenue and 176,000+ jobs by scaling the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program to serve 1,000+ ventures across 21 cohorts throughout Dallas/Fort Worth.

  • Helped plan and execute 6 roundtables and events with political officials, partners, and the Dallas College Chancellor.

  • Dallas College was one of the 4 institutions throughout the country that was able to customize and develop a workforce program connecting Dallas College students with small business alumni.

UNITED WAY SOCIAL INNOVATION INCUBATOR

The Social Innovation Incubator invests human, social, and financial capital in early-stage (discovery and experimentation stages) entrepreneurs in the social innovation sector. The program designed for entrepreneurs who have experienced challenges and who strive to drive impact on education, income, and health in North Texas. The collective, 2-year partnership, between the United Way, Dallas College, EqAll, and SMU which created the first revenue contribution for Dallas College Venture Club (DCVC). All micro businesses that took part in the program became members of DCVC, had a personalized desk throughout the cohort, and entrepreneurship resources and network.

SANTANDER’S CULTIVATE SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAM. A collective partnership Santander’s Cultivate Small Business helps early-stage entrepreneurs build and sustain businesses in the food industry with a focus on historically underserved founders in low to moderate income neighborhoods. Free to eligible entrepreneurs and provides a 12-week food focused curriculum, mentorship, and capital grants.

 

Partners of the Cultivate Small Business Program consisted of Santander Consumer USA, Babson College, The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and Dallas College.

  • I convened resources across the college which included Pre Award, the Small Business Innovation Center, Workforce team members, the North Texas SBDC, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, and the School of Business, Hospitality and Global Trade.

  • Monitored overall application process, oversight of marketing recruitment campaigns, set up and delivery of information sessions.

  • Completed pitch reviews and business plans.

  • Delivery of one-on-one coaching sessions for scholars.

  • Oversight and support with Graduation celebration.

  • Each year, close to 100 graduates from the Dallas, Philadelphia and Miami area were awarded $300,000 to support their entrepreneurial growth.

START.PIVOT.GROW

A micro accelerator that provides business assistance and access to capital programs for small businesses. A higher education accelerator program aims to help small business owners build sustainable operations, increase revenue, create jobs, and scale their business through accelerated education and ongoing business advising.

Impact Report:

  • 9 Cohorts completed

  • 135 participants completed

  • 1.1 million in Capital Raised

  • 73 new jobs

  • 14 new business startups

  • Throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area
